Mechan started life in 1969 as a supplier of lifting equipment to the steel industry and continues to be a world leading manufacturer of Jib Cranes for the Steel Processing, Power Generation, Petrochemical and Marine markets.

Following diversification into other areas the company now enjoys success at home and overseas and produces a myriad of products, including a standard range of depot maintenance equipment for the rail industry, which accounts for more than half of Mechan’s turnover.

Mechan Technology Ltd

Formed in 1998 to design and develop Mechan’s patented railcar lifting jack control system, Micro-Link, Mechan Technology has enjoyed rapid growth.

It has now extended its products to include depot protection systems for use in railway maintenance depots and a range of intelligent systems that offer safe and efficient protection from dangerous environments.
